For people in your life with dietary restrictions, you may not be able to pick up a tin of cookies or box of chocolates at the store for the holidays, but a little time spent in the kitchen and you’ll have a gorgeous and thoughtful gift they’ll savor. I can’t pick a favorite from the list below, but let me know if there’s one you’d especially like to give or receive.
Happy holidays!
1. (Pictured above): Mom’s Famous Vegan, Gluten-Free Ginger Cookies: This brand-new recipe was just revealed (to me, even) by mom, Diane. Spicy, chewy and perfectly crackly with a sparkly sugar coating, these cookies are the quintessential Christmas cookie. Perfect for anyone you want to feel extra-special this holiday.
2. Allergen-Free Chocolate Treats, recipe created for TABLE Magazine. These dark chocolate S’mores and Quinoa Berry Crunch cups could not be simpler to make, and tied up with a bow in a simple cellophane bag, they’d make a gorgeous holiday gift. Photo by Dave Bryce, styled by Keith Recker.
3. Sunbutter Blossoms: This recipe is a copycat of the peanut butter blossom with the Hershey kiss in the middle that everyone’s grandma made, except this one is gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free, subbing Sunbutter for peanut butter. It’s just as delicious though! A tin of these would make a beautiful gift.
4. DIY, Allergen-Free Cookie Mix Jars: I always coveted the conventional versions of these cute jars that people would gift at the holidays, so I made my own with gluten-free, dairy-free ingredients! I gave a bunch of these out to colleagues and friends last year and they were a hit!
5. The BEST GF Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies: Totally classic! After tons of testing, I finally perfected these beauties, which anyone would be thrilled to receive.
