Hi friends!
After lots of reflection and with tons of love and gratitude to all of you, I’ve made the decision to shut down Octofree at the end of this month (March 31, 2026).
When I started sharing recipes in 2021, my vision was to create a positive space for people with food allergies, somewhere they could find joy in cooking and eating despite the limitations they face—and I think we achieved that. Go us!
I have learned many valuable things throughout this process that I’ll take with me as I move on—some empowering, others humbling—about the time and energy that it takes to be a content creator and grow an online business.
Ultimately, I’ve come to the realization that, although I LOVE getting creative in the kitchen and connecting with other home cooks, I want to focus my energy on my family and running my successful PR business, Elm Ink.
Some items for you to know before I close up shop:
- If you have favorite recipes from the site (octofree.com/recipes), please screenshot or print them before March 31 so you can keep enjoying them
- My two e-cookbooks are on super-sale for $5 each (normally $20) at octofree.com/shop
Thank you for joining me on this journey – it’s been a blast to connect with you, and a crash course in online marketing that my Elm Ink clients will reap the benefits of.
Your support has meant the world!
Cheers to you, and to loving life with food allergies –
Liz
